Description
O Herbário Ezechias Paulo Heringer (HEPH) do Jardim botânico de Brasília foi fundado em 1985 com o objetivo de abrigar o acervo botânico proveniente de coletas realizadas da região centro-oeste. Atualmente o acervo do HEPH comporta aproximadamente 36700 espécimes. As coletas dos espécimes depositados são oriundas de áreas de Cerrado, Amazônia, Floresta Atlântica, Caatinga e, principalmente, do Distrito Federal. O HEPH está registrado junto à Rede Brasileira de Herbários (Sociedade Botânica do Brasil) e junto ao Index Herbariorum, desde 1989 e desde 2008, o HEPH é credenciado como herbário fiel depositário de amostras de componente do patrimônio genético. Coleções históricas como as de Ezechias Paulo Heringer integram o acervo.
