Description

O Herbário da Escola de Florestas Curitiba (EFC) foi criado em 1982 com o objetivo de documentar a flora regional e promover a conservação da diversidade de plantas autóctones, além de servir como instrumento didático e de apoio à pesquisa e extensão para os cursos de graduação e pós-graduação em Engenharia Florestal da Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR). Com quase 26.000 amostras informatizadas, são destaque no acervo as coleções de flora de montanha da Serra do Mar Paranaense e dos Campos nativos do Paraná, assim como importantes registros de plantas raras e ameaçadas de extinção. Realiza atividades de extensão com variados setores da sociedade, por meio de visitas técnicas, vivências, cursos e serviços extensionistas. Neste âmbito, possui uma coleção de plantas vivas no campus que visa apoiar as ações de extensão e ensino. Cadastrado no Index Herbariorum em 2013, é vinculado à Rede Brasileira de Herbários, e faz parte do NAPI TaxOnline (TaxoOnline, 2024).
