Description

O Herbário PERD está localizado no Parque Estadual do Rio Doce, Unidade de Conservação que abriga o maior remanescente de Mata Atlântica de Minas Gerais e que predominantemente é composto por Floresta Estacional Semidecidual, além disso, engloba um sistema lacustre que inclui 42 lagoas. Esse conjunto de características onde se visualiza a junção de sua formação florestal com seus recursos hídricos cria um ambiente peculiar para a ocorrência de organismos da flora terrestre e aquática.
