Description
The Lages Herbarium of the State University of Santa Catarina (LUSC) was founded in 2006 and officially recognized institutionally in 2011. It currently holds approximately 6,100 specimens. The registration of its acronymin the Index Herbariorum is under review. About 80% of the collection's specimens come from southern Brazil, primarily from the state of Santa Catarina, all belonging to the Atlantic Forest biome. The specimens are the result of floristic surveys conducted in wetlands and Mixed Ombrophilous Forest areas in the Santa Catarina Plateau. The LUSC Herbarium aims to contribute to the knowledge of Santa Catarina’s flora.

O Herbário Lages da Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (LUSC) foi fundado em 2006 e oficializado institucionalmente em 2011. Possui atualmente cerca de 6.100 espécimes. O registro do Acrônimo no Index Herbariorum encontra-se em tramitação. A coleção possui cerca de 80% dos exemplares da Região Sul do Brasil, principalmente do estado de Santa Catarina, todos pertencentes ao bioma Mata Atlântica. Os espécimes registrados na coleção são oriundos de levantamentos florísticos em áreas úmidas (banhados) e áreas de Floresta Ombrófila Mista com ocorrência no Planalto Catarinense e tem como objetivo contribuir com o conhecimento da Flora Catarinense.
