Description
The Vale do São Francisco Herbarium (HVASF) was founded in 2005 to support teaching, research, and extension activities at the Federal University of Vale do São Francisco (UNIVASF). Its primary goal is to become a reference for the flora of the Caatinga. Over 80% of the herbarium's specimens have been identified by leading specialists from Brazil and abroad. With its entire collection digitized and available online, HVASF is integrated into the Brazilian Herbarium Network (RBH), the National Institute of Science and Technology – Virtual Herbarium of Flora and Fungi (INCT-HVFF) via speciesLink, and is indexed in the Index Herbariorum (New York Botanical Garden). HVASF maintains its own database, the Carolus Software, an online, multi-user system integrated with Geographic Information Systems. Its main collection is complemented by three accessory collections: the Wood Collection (XVASF), the Seed Collection, and the Living Collection. HVASF plays a crucial role in the conservation of the Caatinga, serving as a scientific resource for research on the proper management and preservation of the semi-arid Brazilian flora.
#--------------------
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 13,460 records.
2 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.
