Description
The Rosa Mochel Herbarium (SLUI), part of the Department of Biology at the State University of Maranhão (UEMA), was founded in 1988 to house botanical specimens and support practical classes for the Agronomy course. Since 2009, SLUI has been registered with the Brazilian Network of Herbaria (Sociedade Botânica do Brasil) and, since 2017, with the Index Herbariorum. Its current collection comprises of mostly angiosperms, primarily from the state of Maranhão, including samples from Amazon rainforest, Cerrado, and coastal vegetation.

O Herbário Rosa Mochel (SLUI) do Departamento de Biologia da Universidade Estadual do Maranhão (UEMA) foi fundado em 1988 com o objetivo de abrigar o material botânico coletado e atender as aulas práticas do Curso de Agronomia. Desde 2009 o herbário SLUI está registrado na Rede Brasileira de Herbários (Sociedade Botânica do Brasil) e no Index Herbariorum desde 2017. O acervo atual é composto principalmente de angiospermas, oriundas do Estado do Maranhão, de áreas de floresta amazônica, cerrado e vegetação litorânea.
